Information about getting from "El. Venizelos" Athens International Airport to the Conference Centre and to the suggested hotels by public transportation or by taxi is given below, along with information about getting to the conference location from the centre of Athens and Piraeus.

Getting to the Conference Centre by Public Transportation

Reaching the Centre using Public Transport is very easy. There are direct links with the centre of Athens, Piraeus and Athens International Airport. All stops are situated at a 5-minute distance from the NBG Training Centre.

Getting to the Conference Centre by Car

FROM ATHENS TO GLYFADA: Take Vouliagmenis Avenue and after the Glyfada Traffic Police building turn right into Sakis Karagiorgas Str. At the end of the road, at the coast avenue traffic lights by the church Agios Konstantinos, turn right and the Centre is 200m down the road. Turn right into Iatrou Liouga Street (cul-de-sac) where you will see the entrance to the Centre.

FROM SOUTH SUBURBS: Take Poseidonos Avenue towards Athens and 200m after the church Agios Konstantinos, at Glyfada square, turn right into Iatrou Liouga Street (cul-de-sac) where you will see the entrance to the Centre.

Getting to the HOTELS by Public Transportation

We strongly recommend the participants to book their accommodation in one of the suggested conference hotels. All the hotels can easily be reached from the airport, using the public Express Bus system (# X96 for Glyfada, #X95 for Athens centre). The buses run every 20' (05:00 am - 20:30 pm) or 40' (20:30 pm- 5:00 am), 24 hours a day. The bus terminals at the airport are close to Exits No 4 and 5 of the arrival hall. The fare is ~3.20 Euro per person and tickets can be bought from the ticket office at the bus terminal or from the bus driver (please note that bus stops are not announced, thus you have to inform the driver in advance about your destination).

How to reach the different hotels located close to the conference centre, via Express bus X96 from the airport:

LONDON HOTEL (38, Possidonos Avenue, Glyfada, Athens): The bus stop “3rd Glyfada’’ is just 50 m away from the hotel’s entrance (in the opposite side of the road). Please cross the road carefully!

BEST WESTERN HOTEL FENIX (1 - 3, Artemissiou Str., Glyfada, Athens): Get off at “Glyfada 2nd Bus Stop”. The hotel is only 50 meters away from this bus stop.

EMMANTINA HOTEL (33, Possidonos Avenue, Glyfada, Athens): Get off at “Glyfada 4th Bus Stop”. The Emmantina Hotel is only 100 meters away from this bus stop.

PALMYRA BEACH HOTEL (70, Possidonos Avenue, Glyfada, Athens): Get off at “Glyfada 5th Bus Stop”. The Palmyra Beach Hotel is only 100 meters opposite this bus stop. Please cross the road carefully!

FOUR SEASONS HOTEL (79, Possidonos Avenue, Glyfada, Athens): Get off at “Platia Katraki Bus Stop” (Pl. Glyfada). The Four Seasons Hotel is about 150 meters away from this bus stop.

Alternatively you can use a taxi. The taxi fare is ca. 25 Euros plus a supplementary charge for every piece of luggage. Taxis are available right outside the airport building.

How to reach the hotels located in the city centre, via Express bus X95 or metro from the airport:

BEST WESTERN ESPERIA PALACE HOTEL (22, Stadiou Av., Athens): The Station for the Express Bus from and to the airport, the "Panepistimio" Metro Station, and the Tram Station (Syntagma Square) are very close to the hotel.

DIVANI PALACE ACROPOLIS (19-25 Parthenonos str., Athens): Take the Metro to Syntagma Square station, change to red line and continue to Acropolis metro station, exit and follow Parthenonos street until the hotel appears on your left.

Alternatively you can use a taxi. The taxi fare towards the city centre is slightly higher, ~30-40 Euros, plus a supplementary charge for every piece of luggage. Taxis are available right outside the airport building.
